Dating - Some Basic Profile Information That All Dating Sites Will Ask For (Part 1)
With so many mediocre free dating sites that are out there, why is it important to choose one that is well known and requires a membership fee, in addition to many more prerequisites just to sign up?
The answer is because finding a potential partner in life is a very serious endeavor and you would want to use only the highest in a respectable dating service. You can compare this to finding a good reliable car. You wouldn't go to a junk garage to find a dependable car, would you? Similarly, you wouldn't go to a free, unmoderated dating site for a potential match where just about anybody can post anything.
Almost all reputable online dating sites are very well organized. All posts are supervised and they provide answers to important questions and give specific information about their members. Although they have a different format on how their member information is arranged, you can expect all quality services to include the following:
Age: Although some dating sites do not ask this within their list of questionnaires, this is automatically located in their registration form. This information is figured out when you enter your date of birth as soon as you typed in your credit card information. Some sites do not show the actual age of their members, and instead places them in 10-year age bracket.
Marital Status: All the choices are covered - from single, divorced, never married, etc. which leaves very little chance for someone to embellish.
Weight: The options that are listed are sometimes ambiguous. For example, words such as fat and slim are changed by words such as beefy, thickset, or small & lean. When answering this question, or all questions for that matter, it is best to be honest and give them the facts, not what you wish you could be. After all, you can only embellish too much. You are going to show your real self eventually when you meet that potential person.
Height: This means your height from head to toe, not counting heels.
Children: Do you have kids? Do you want kids? Some sites give the age of the children and/or the person they are living with.
Religion: This is very important for some people. However, some unusual answers include undetermined, pagan, or "does not practice a faith".
Eye/Hair Color: Although most sites are actually asking for the real eye and hair color that you were born with, members usually give their current eye and hair color/colors that may be different due to fashion changes. This is a fun question to answer for some members and also a way to show their sense of humor.
